One of the main things I do is research and develop cognitive tools for productivity and sleep (sleep is necessary for productivity and wellness!). They include the cognitive shuffle, mySleepButton, Hookmark and Cognitive Productivity books. Deep work is a form of cognitive productivity discussed extensively by Cal Newport.
What Cal doesn’t do much of, however, is provide guidance on using software to support deep work. He’s a digital minimalist. I think he takes minimalism too far. So I wrote a brief article on How Hookmark Helps You Do Deep Work.
My article is also discussed on the Mac Power Users forum. If you’re interested, please let me know there, or on the Hookmark forum what you think.
